The world of computers came to an abrupt stop last night when I tried to uninstall a program. The error was "Internal Error 2738". I'm thinking to myself, ok, I am probably missing the uninstaller..maybe by accidently deleting it. So I thought...lets try to install that program again and then uninstall it. That didn't work either because I had gotten the same error.
I was tired last night after work, so I shut it off and would try to make another attempt at it this morning. Well, I got the same thing, and a certain frustration/pissed-offness (is that a word? If not, I made it up now. lol!) came over me. I took a deep breath, and searched google.
I found that it is a common error, and there were many different suggestions on how to fix the issue. Amazingly, the first one I tried, resolved it (so far). What I did, was installed Windows Script 5.6. I then restarted my computer, and was estatic that my desktop icons appeared right away (I've already tried to do a registery scan and that did fix that problem), instead of waiting 30-40 seconds for them to come up.
So, before I tested it out to see if I could finally unistall the program that I wanted to get rid of, I rebooted again. My hopes were high and got disappointed with that. However, I can uninstall and install again and at least something is working right for me this morning.
